“I was in high school when I first started working on campus. I feel like I know everybody and everybody knows me and it feels like home. You know you never want to leave home because you are familiar with everything and everybody, that’s the kind of feeling I have here.”
“I don’t really have free time, I also run a family business, but I have a son so I hang out with him. Funny story, he had a science project and they couldn’t figure out something so he said, “You should call my dad, he’ll figure it out!” They asked him, “What does your dad do?” and he said, “He’s a fixer!” He has the confidence that I can do anything and it is a pretty cool feeling. One thing I tell even my son, who’s only 11 years old, is that just because it can’t be done this way, doesn’t mean there is not another way. Life is not always going to be straight, so you have to figure out another way to make it happen. Giving up easily, that’s not me. I want everybody I know to feel that way because you’ll find a way to get it done. When there is a deadline we do whatever it takes to make it happen. When I say whatever it takes I mean if we have to stay here till 1:00 in the morning… It’s all about the students. We have to make sure that we make it happen. There is no “I can’t”, option B is not an option for us…If you guys get a chance to see them [dining facilities workers], just say “Hi”. These are the people that make everything in the dining halls happen.”
